Spring has been a whirlwind! I’ve been experimenting with frames, refining my process, and expanding “World of Art Prints” worldwide. I’m thrilled to say that orders are now being shipped literally around the world- to Australia, and I’m sending prints to the USA almost weekly. However, postage to Canada has been a bit slow, so I strongly recommend upgrading to the express courier option for a faster and smoother delivery.
This years best seller is the Principle Rivers of Scotland which I recently digitised from an original and much damaged etching which had been beautifully hand coloured. Hoping to hang a copy in my… *drumroll* new studio!
In other exciting news, I’ve just moved into a purpose-designed workshop—though calling it a workshop might be a stretch. It’s actually a walk-in cupboard in my Edinburgh flat, squeezed between the kitchen and lounge, but it’s my own neat and tidy space! My friend Ray has been a huge help, building sturdy shelves with heavy-duty galvanized steel to support my oversized Epson printer, which is essential for producing large format maps. We’re still working on it, but I’m excited to share a mid-fitout photo here.
Having this dedicated space is a game changer. It’s essential for running the printers, which can take over an hour to produce a single print at the highest resolution. These machines are noisy, with fans to cure the inks and ensure they’re smudge-free. We also took the time to fill the gaps in the 100-year-old floorboards and painted the space a matte grey, which is perfect for judging colors. I’ve installed daylight lamps to keep everything consistent—there’s nothing worse than judging a print by poor lighting.
I’m so happy to finally have a proper space to work in, and I’m incredibly grateful to Ray for his help, and to all of you for your support as I continue this journey. Thank you for being part of it all!
Cheers,
Ciorsdan
