Happy New Year, everyone!
I’m just catching my breath after an absolutely incredible December. I was truly blown away by the interest in my work, particularly in the bespoke maps of Scotland and England that seemed to capture so many hearts this holiday season. It’s been an honour to create these personalized pieces, and I can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoyed hearing the stories behind each request.
For those who aren’t familiar, one of my most popular offerings has been creating custom prints using vintage maps of specific areas—whether it’s Scotland, England, Ireland, or even some old sea charts. What makes these prints truly special is the personal touch: I take a map of a meaningful location, be it a childhood home, a beloved school, or a place where someone spent their entire career, and I incorporate it into a unique gift print. It’s been so rewarding to help people celebrate their connections to these places, and apparently, these prints make great gifts! Whether it’s for a birthday, anniversary, or just because, these maps have found their way into homes all over the world, and I’m so proud to be part of that.
Speaking of which, I’m thrilled to say that I’ve been working closely with the framer up the road, Frame Work at Bonnington Industrial Estate. They’ve been doing a fantastic job framing many of these prints, and I continue to recommend their services to anyone looking to add that perfect finishing touch. Framing really elevates the print, turning it into a statement piece ready to be hung and admired. I’m currently working on figuring out a way to offer framed prints directly, so watch this space—hopefully, it won’t be long before you can order your map print with a beautiful frame included, ready to be shipped straight to your door.
The stories that come with these orders are what make this work so special. Whether it’s a map of a place where someone grew up, where their family roots are, or where they’ve created their own memories, every piece is a reminder of the deep connections we have to our past and to the places that shape our lives. Shipping these prints to all corners of the globe has been such a joy, and I feel incredibly proud to be part of these personal journeys.
As we step into 2017, I’m excited to continue expanding my collection of vintage maps, adding more areas, and hopefully, more sea charts too. There’s something timeless and captivating about these old maps, and I’m eager to share even more of them with you in the coming months.
Thank you all for your support and for trusting me with your memories and stories. Here’s to a new year full of creativity, growth, and beautiful maps!
Cheers,
Ciorsdan
