This antique map, created in 1665, is titled ‘Zvtphania Comitatvs’, which translates to ‘County of Zutphen’. The map depicts the Netherlands in the early 17th century, a time when the country was still under the control of the Dutch Republic. The map shows the central region of the country, including the towns of Doetinchem, Lichtenvoorde, and Halle. The Netherlands at this time was bordered by Germany to the east and had a strong economy due to its maritime trading industry. The country was also known for its artistic and cultural contributions to Europe during the Dutch Golden Age.
