This antique map was created in 1665 and is titled ‘Praefrctvra Tonderanae Ora Maritima’, which translates to ‘Prefecture of Tonder’s Coastal Area’. It depicts an area of Germany in the early 17th century, bordering Denmark to the north. The map shows a range of natural features such as rivers, forests and hills, as well as settlements and roads. Niebüll, Galmsbüll and Aventoft are located centrally on the map. Overall, this map provides a fascinating insight into the geography and topography of Germany in the 17th century.
