I am a huge Larry David fan. I remember the first time I saw his tv show ‘curb I must have been in my late teens and I had the uncanny feeling I was watching a tv show about my future self. Now a bald(ing) man with many unusual habits and a no-nonsense approach to dealing with bullsh!t I think either Larry’s character portrayed by himself in ‘curb or as George in Seinfeld may have been a significant role model for me. Meh, maybe not.
Anyway- last night we were watching a re-run of the show and my partner pointed out the irony in the artwork adorning Larry’s office. I realised I must have seen the poster a hundred times but only in that show did I read the text;
“Jokes that injure others, waste time, hurt records… are never jokes. Let’s Think Twice”
The moral of the story is- don’t mess around on the production line. This was a poster originally hung in factories by the war department in the 1910’s USA.
