The title translates to ‘Husum Prefecture’ which refers to the region around the town of Husum, located centrally on the map. Other nearby towns include Breklum and Struckum. The map provides a glimpse into the topography, rivers and other natural features of the region, as well as the political boundaries and settlements of the time. It offers a fascinating insight into the history and geography of Germany in the 17th Century.
