The title translates to ‘The Southern Part of Northern Jutland’. In the early 17th century, Denmark was a constitutional monarchy ruled by the House of Oldenburg. The country was primarily agricultural with some trade and fishing industries. The population was relatively small and concentrated in a few cities and towns, including Vejle, Horsens, and Brande which are located centrally on the map.
